Global Network Status: Operational 47 POPs · 12 Tier-1 peers
Since 2017

We started Viba because the wholesale market kept getting it wrong.

Seven years building voice infrastructure for the destinations the industry forgot — and proving that "exotic" is just a word carriers use for "we didn't bother."

The story

One frustrated routing engineer.
One terrible call to the Solomon Islands.

Viba Communications was founded in 2017 by a routing engineer who got tired of explaining to enterprise customers why a 4-minute call to Honiara cost $14, sounded like a wind tunnel, and dropped at minute three.

The problem wasn't technology. The problem was incentives: every wholesale carrier in the market was optimizing for the big corridors — US-India, UK-Pakistan, Mexico-US — and treating everything else as a reseller hand-off.

We took the opposite bet. We started in Port Vila, walked into the national operator's office, and asked for a direct interconnect. Eighteen months and forty more conversations like that later, we had landing rights in fifteen Pacific and African destinations no other Tier-2 carrier could offer.

Today we run a 47-POP network, terminate to 240+ destinations, and process roughly 284 million minutes per month for carriers, ITSPs and platforms who care about the call actually working.

Milestones

How we got here.

A short list of the years that mattered — and the bets we made that paid off.

2017

Founded in Singapore

Initial POPs in SG, FRA and NYC. First wholesale customer signed within 90 days.

2018

First Pacific direct interconnect

Landed Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu. Routes that nobody else carried at quality.

2020

Managed SBC business launched

Started operating switches for Tier-3 carriers who'd rather bill than babysit. Now over 40 deployments.

2022

Crossed 100M minutes / month

Eight years from a single rack in Equinix SG3 to nine-figure monthly traffic.

2024

ISO 27001 certified

Formalized what was already internal practice — compliance, audit, security review cadence.

2026

SIP Trunking pilot opens

Extending the network into the enterprise market with elastic trunks and self-serve provisioning.

The network

A backbone that runs the way tier-1s run, at wholesale economics.

Our infrastructure spans three continents and is built around a dual-active routing core with hot-standby failover between Frankfurt and Singapore. Every leg is monitored end-to-end — not just for ASR and PDD but for jitter, packet loss, codec negotiation success, and time-to-180.

When a route degrades, our LCR engine reroutes within seconds. When a destination's primary carrier goes dark — and they do — our fallback table reaches at least two secondary terminators on every major prefix.

Edge SBCs

Carrier-grade SBCs in Equinix-class facilities in NYC, FRA, SGP, with smaller PoPs in LON, AMS, MIA, HKG, SYD, DXB, SAO and JNB.

Routing core

Custom LCR + ML-driven fraud scoring. CDRs published to customer webhooks in real time; full history queryable via API.

Peering

12 Tier-1 upstream peers, 40+ direct interconnects with national operators across the Pacific, Africa, Caribbean and Central Asia.

The team

Operators, not salespeople.

Viba is run by people who have spent careers inside carrier NOCs, billing platforms and switch rooms. Most of our customer-facing engineers have personally rebuilt a softswitch at 4 AM.

22

5
